Yesterday, NCAA March Madness Bracket Day, I saw a video crew on campus. I followed them virtually, by kindness of my well-placed network of cellphone spies, into Chambers and found out it was a news team from Charlotte, here to do a piece on Associate Professor of Mathematics Tim Chartier and his whiz kids. As dear Davidson Daybook readers know, senior Daniel Martin in particular is showing an especially intuitive knack for some pretty cool computery math stuff.

Now as March Madness 2011 revs into high gear, read a story and view a video on the latest and greatest “hoops and books” news in the ever-refining science of bracketology, from Fox News.
