Update 1/17/13: Here’s a clip with pix from the event!

If music is truly a universal language of understanding and hath charms to soothe a savage breast and that, then maybe we should all take a moment to give Washington lawmakers a heads up to come together and hie themselves on over to Blues Alley in the nation’s capital this Monday night.

The Davidson Jazz Ensemble is playing Blues Alley with shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Monday. Paul Ward ’81 arranged the gig, Estes Millner Professor of Music Bill Lawing said, and the road trip leaves in the morning.

Safe travels, musicians!
