Baseball & Bon Appétit: First Pitch v. UNC-G Tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 p.m.
The heinous stormage barreling down on campus as I type postponed tonight’s baseball game. The good news is that a planned crawfish fest at the game got moved up to lunchtime! More good news is that there is enough tasty Conecuh sausage left over for free sausage at tomorrow’s double-header, part of a three-game Southern Conference series v. UNC-G. Wildcat Baseball Head Coach Dick Cooke told me over a barquette of spicy crawfish that the first pitch is slated for 2 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday. Check the baseball home page for updates. The feast and festivities are big thanks to Ginger and Rucker Taylor, the Gulf Coast (Fairhope, Ala.) parents of Assistant Baseball Coach Rucker Taylor, and that fine family’s superb connections amongst the crawfish’n’sausage cognoscenti down home. We thank you, and look forward to seeing you again tomorrow at Wilson Field for more good eats and great baseball, and again Sunday for Senior Day! Thanks to my collegial buddy Gray Dyer ’96 for the photos and this quick “before” video. Tomorrow’s weather is supposed to be beautiful… see you at the ballpark to cheer on our Wildcats in the Saturday sunshine! [Click photos to enlarge.]
